Join us for a PATCHES workshop: Making Patches – Sharing Radical Joy!
Patches can be activist, expressive, and full of radical joy. In this workshop, we’ll make patches for each other and for ourselves as small keepsakes of empowerment. Patches can carry stories and messages, spark conversations, and celebrate community and self-expression.
We’ll play with techniques and materials, explore different shapes and forms, experiment with colors and textures and discover unexpected combinations. You’ll create something to carry with you and celebrate yourself through your own unique patch.
Materials will be provided as much as possible. You’re welcome to bring anything you’d like to include in your patch designs or share with others, such as fabrics, threads, beads, collaged words or images, markers, or small found objects.
Not in the mood to make something yourself? Just want a drink and a talk? You’re very welcome to join us all evening! Gendercafe is a great place to hang out and meet trans and non-binary community.
Gendercafe only serves coffee and tea, so feel free to bring your own non-alcoholic drinks.
Date: Thursday, November 21st
Time: 19:15–22:00
Location: Buurthuis in de drie krone, Oudegracht 227
Come for a drink, come for the patches, come for the joy. We would love to see you!
